Weight Loss Meal Plan that Works

If you want to lose weight, crash diets aren’t the way to go. You need a good weight loss meal plan to provide you with all the nutrients you need, in the right quantities and ratios.

Eating five small meals a day is much better for weight loss that three large meals. Eating five meals gives your body the fuel it needs throughout the day without allowing your blood sugar levels to become too high or low. It also helps you to burn fat more efficiently.

One of the reasons so many of us put on weight is because we eat too large a meal. We’ve been trained since we were children to not leave any food on our plates so we tend to keep on eating even if we’re feeling full. One important aspect of a weight loss meal plan is to get the portion size right. If we reduce the amount we eat we’re half way there.

Of course you also need to eat a nutritious diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and a balance of meat, cereals, dairy foods and fats. A good weight loss meal plan will combine all of these in the correct ratios.

If you’re not too confident about knowing which foods you should eat or what portion size you should have, it would be advisable to talk to a dietitian. He or she can tailor a weight loss meal plan to your lifestyle and can support and guide you along the weight loss path.

This was a very valuable piece of information indeed. Just to add to that, your small meals may consist of some quickies. Small baked turkey sandwiches with some peanut butter, or a handful of nuts, or a bowl of instant oatmeal with low fat milk, are some good nutritious small meal choices. Chicken breast dipped in salsa is a good option; if its something cooked, you are looking for. When too short of time then, just any fruit along with whole grain bread is the trick. These healthy small meals are tasty and filling too.
